Attach failure from DB2 Control Center to z/OS

Attach failure from DB2 Control Center to z/OS
I'm using DB2 Control Center 9.5 fixpak 3a and have noticed when I click
on All Systems, then Instance that the login fails.
I then get a prompt to enter a valid User Id and Password so I enter in
my z/OS userid and password and it fails again.
I then cancel out and get this message:

SQL30082N Security processing failed with reason "24" ("USERNAME
AND/OR PASSWORD INVALID"). SQLSTATE=08001

When I look at the DB2 log on z/OS I see this message:
DSNL030I -DB9G DSNLTSEC DDF PROCESSING FAILURE FOR 146
LUWID=C05620FC.C35C.C3AB4566CF58
AUTHID=troy, REASON=00F30089

I'm not sure why the AUTHID being passed is "troy" which is my
workstation id and not my z/OS id.
I'm not sure how I can change the configuration to pass my z/OS id.

(in response to Troy Coleman)
I think when you cancel out your troy id which is your pc userid is getting
passed up since you did not complete the signon. You should select the
subsystem that you want to connect by right clicking on it and then
selecting connect, and then when you get promoted enter your z/OS userid and
pw. That should work.

Re: Attach failure from DB2 Control Center to z/OS
(in response to Philip Gunning)
Hi Phil,
I think I just figured out what is going wrong. When I click on the
plus sign "+" next to All Systems it opens up with a list of servers. I
then click on the "+" next to the z/OS host IP address. I then click on
the "+" next to instance and this is when a login to z/os is implicitly
done for me. I'm given a login error screen with the chance to enter a
userid and password again. I enter my z/OS userid and password but the
RACF message on z/OS shows it is using my windows id.

Today instead of following this path I clicked on the "+" next to All
Sytems and then in the right pane I right clicked on the IP address and
clicked attach. I then received an error that the DB2 Admin Server is
not running. This would be true I never setup DAS on z/OS. So I guess
I need to setup DAS on z/OS if I want to navigate down the tree
structure in control center. I don't ever remember setting up a DAS on
z/OS before. Time to go back and read the install guide :-).
