max size of dataset BEFORE max extents is DB2 working ok! The old problem
was running out of extents BEFORE hitting max size (Which was always
embarassing!)

Thema: [DB2-L] AUTOMATED SPACE MANAGEMENT

Hiya-

We've been testing DB2 v8 Automated space management on z/OS R1.9 and
PTF UQ89517 , UK08807 already applied.

Still we are facing issue explained below :-

I've defined tablespace with NUMPART (2) , PQTY 48 SQTY-1 (i've attached
screen shots in this email) , DSSIZE 4G,

zParm -->

MAXEXTZ 'YES'
TSQTY 0
IXQTY 0

As expected the dataset should reach it's capacity of 4Gig. But in spite
of
that it's reaching maximum size of dataset priort to reaching MAX Extents.
It's not following the rule of DB2 Automated space manamgement. It's
reaching max Extents in spite of reaching 4 Gig space.

Please can you tell us what is essential for DB2 Automated Space managment

to be working correct for us ?.

Thanks ,
Tejas Jadhav
