SQLCODE = -438

Raey

SQLCODE = -438
I am trying to drop a view that is referenced in an MQT.  When I try to drop the view using a CA tool (RC migrator) , I am getting the following error message

     DROP VIEW Z1CI001$.CI_DT_LBL_V;
  DSNT408I SQLCODE =   -438, SQLSTATE = 00000, UNQUALIFIED SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION FROM ?
            TOKENS PTABDBS: PTLBDBC subtask has abended: S04E

When I try to drop it via SPUFI , I am getting the following error:

Abend 04E000 hex occurred processing command 'DSN     '.

The view also has about 40 other dependent views.

Any idea on what is causing this issue ?

AK

Re: SQLCODE = -438
(in response to Raey)
I think you have answered your own question

Try dropping the MQT first (if you can) before dropping the view

DB2 is trying to prevent you dropping a view and being left with an MQT that
now references a view that doesn't exist

(Mind you, the message for the -438 could be more helpful)

PS I just checked my V8 and DB2 9 doc - their text for a -438 is
"APPLICATION RAISED ERROR WITH DIAGNOSTIC TEXT: text", are you sure you were
getting a -438??)
