mystery - disappearing license DB2 ESE v9.5 on SuSe 10.1 under z/VM

mystery - disappearing license DB2 ESE v9.5 on SuSe 10.1 under z/VM
had a mystery glitch last night :

the license file on one of my servers disappeared (i.e db2ese_c.lic was
nowhere to be found ) and db2licm -l showed that both the ESE and connect
licenses were expired.

No work could be processed ( bit of an irritation there )

After putting the license files back on the box and using db2licm -a on
each, I now see that the licenses are permanent ( again ).

-------------
Any insight as to why these licenses vanished all-of-a-sudden would be
greatly appreciated - can't find anything suspicious in any of the logs :
DB, system, or tripwire

Thanks,
