Modify Recovery Running Slow
Hello List,

Can anybody share about probable reasons behind modify recovery and statistics running slow. I would appreciate any clues as to what should I look for to figure out performance problems.

Thanks,
Devyani

probably SYSLGRNX being in a mess...sometimes give it a REORG before you
do a large MODIFY run (Of course SYSCOPY can also be in a mess.....)

SYSCOPY has just 22000 records. However when I checked indexes on syscopy, they all have cluster ratio less than 60%. Is this the reason of long run time of the job? One thing weird is like with the same statistics, the job is not taking that long.

That doesn't sound like a lot, so maybe you should pursue Roy's suggestion. If there are tons of SYSLGRNX entries for the objects (like open-close ranges), this can slow down the cleanup process.
