We are meeting everywhere and anywhere someone wants...

Actually, I believe there will be sign-up sheets for the dine-around
near registration once you arrive at IDUG in a few days.

Mary will correct me if I have it wrong..

Re: Wed dine around
(in response to William Favero)
This dine around thing is actually quite a bit of fun. I participated in a
dine around event when IDUG was in Denver a couple of years ago. There
should be sign-ups posted on IDUG bulletin boards, and participants can
choose from a number of different restaurants. Mary has already been
coordinating with the speakers to divide them up amongst the dining
destinations. Hopefully your favorite speaker shares your interests in
favorite foods.

One tip - bring cash if you can - it makes paying your share of the bill at
the end easier.

Another tip - check out where Willie is eating - rumor has it that he's a
food consumption expert.

Doh!

Cheers,
Scott

Reminder - Party Monday Night @ House of Blues - stop by DBI's booth 313 and
get your button!

Re: Wed dine around

Willie and Scott, You guys are absolutely right! Thanks for the plug on
dine-around!

We will have sign-up posters near registration area with restaurant
names and some speakers' names on them. Just pick your choice of
restaurant and jog down your name. We will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the
Lobby right after Wed. SIG sessions. An IDUG Headquarter staff will
lead each group to the restaurant and stay there to coordinate.

All selected restaurants are in the West End District which allows the
attendees to experience the West End. Western store, Wild Bill, will be
on hand to give everyone a Texas-style greeting before dinner!

Come join us!

Thanks, Mary. Do I interpret correctly that transporation is being taken care of? Will I be able to get a receipt? I have to produce a receipt for every expense, and hand-written ones are not acceptable.

Re: Wed dine around
(in response to Penny Jaskulke)
From your list, I have had dinner at

Sonny Bryan's (really good Texas BBQ),

Spaghetti Warehouse (good food, but it is a chain),

Landry's (always excellent see food),

Dick's Last Resort (good food but a crazy place... I have had people
with me get very embarrassed by some of the stuff they do to entertain
their customers... if you don't have a good sense of humor, stay away)

Butcher Shop (I didn't realize they were still around in Dallas... has
someone actually talked with them?)

The others I am not familiar with.. I'll find out in a few days which
one I'm signed up for... LOL
