Meeting Point @Dallas/Fort Worth Airport?

Meeting Point @Dallas/Fort Worth Airport?
Hey you local cowgirls & cowboys,

Could you please recommend an easy-to-find meeting point @DFW for people
flying in to different terminals?

Much obliged,

Hawk Eye Bob

Howdy, Miss Maja.

I'd recommend meeting folks in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt DFW (
http://granddfw.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp). It's integrated into the
International Terminal (Terminal D) and easily accessible from all the other
terminals. The hotel has a pretty cool coffee bar, called Moka, if you want
a shot of caffeine after your long trip.

Cowboy Bob

P.S. "Bob" is for cowBOYS, not cowGIRLS. You might want to go with
"Hawk-Eye Hannah" or something like that. Alternatively, you could just add
a name to Maja, e.g., Maja Mae or Maja Sue. Two-part first names are pretty
big with the cowboy (and cowgirl) set in The Lone Star State. Mine would be
"Bobby Fred" (casual form of Robert Frederick), as in, "Git back to work
raht NOW, Bobby Fred!"

What's the best way to get from the DFW Airport to the Hotel? I'll be

Re: Meeting Point @Dallas/Fort Worth Airport?

Well, I know that a taxi is going to run you $40 or more,
due to it being 20-some miles from the airport to downtown.

There is the TRE train (Trinity Railway Express), but I think
a 9PM arrival might be after the last time it runs. Also, you
have to board at least one, maybe two buses to get you from
the terminal to the train station.

So the best bet schedule-wise and budget-wise is probably
the Super Shuttle, a van you share with other passengers.
I think the IDUG site said $18.

Re: Meeting Point @Dallas/Fort Worth Airport?

Super Shuttle runs downtown and usually has a OK price.. almost always
less than a taxi.

Everyone reading this list that needs to get downtown may want to post
arrival times here. Three or four in a taxi can be really inexpensive
sometimes.. Or maybe you all could fill a Super Shuttle so you only
make one stop..

Re: Meeting Point @Dallas/Fort Worth Airport?

You can book the Super Shuttle online and pre-pay via credit card.

I'm scheduled for:

5/17/2008 7:20 PM (2 people)

http://www.supershuttle.com

It appears the vans typically hold 7 people.

Here are the directions they sent me:

Airport Instructions: AFTER COLLECTING YOUR LUGGAGE, PLEASE CALL FROM THE
COURTESY PHONES ADJACENT TO THE BAGGAGE CLAIM AREA. ONCE BAGGAGE IS
RETRIEVED, PLEASE PROCEED OUTSIDE TO THE SHARED-RIDE ZONE NEAR THE ORANGE
SIGN MARKED SUPERSHUTTLE. MOST CURBS ARE STAFFED BY A SUPERSHUTTLE AGENT
BETWEEN 10AM-8PM. EXCLUSIVE SERVICE WILL ONLY BE HONORED IF ALL PARTIES
ARRIVE ON THE SAME FLIGHT.

Re: Meeting Point @Dallas/Fort Worth Airport?
(in response to Philip Nelson)
I arrive at 7 Sunday night on American from Detroit.

I'd be interested in sharing a cab or shuttle.
