Re: DB2 Data Generator
(in response to Mayo Arthur)
Hi Art,
I'm Troy Coleman an Officer on the Chicago Midwest Database User Group
and a recent employee of SoftBase. I have not used the IBM tool but
wanted to let you know about another tool on the market called TestBase
formerly DGF (Data Generation Facility) from SoftBase
http://www.softbase.com/sbprod1.php
TestBase was developed about 12 years ago as a test data generator. It
has gone through some dramatic enhancements over the past few years so
the name was changed to represent the product as a full testing tool
from data generation, to data extraction of VSAM, QSAM and DB2 including
data masking for data privacy, an editor and a full set of compare
reports to support regression testing.

Re: DB2 Data Generator

You may also want to look at D-SECT from ESAi. Not only does it do
DB2, but also IMS, VSAM, etc. Does generation, masking, selection and
transformation for sending data to DB2 or other platforms.

For more info see http://www.esaigroup.com/products/applications.htm
