Considering "Dipsies" - New Indexes for DB2 V8

(Embedded image moved to file: pic28487.jpg)

A "Dipsie" - Dependent Partition Secondary Index (DPSI) - is a new type
of index in DB2 V8 that is an NPI (Non-Partitioning Index) by partition.
This Web Seminar will explain what Dipsies are, why they were created,
what improvements they bring to V8 as well as the pitfalls and problems
they cause. Restrictions caused by Dipsies as well as their effect on
application performance will be discussed. The seminar will conclude with
an overview of CDB products that offer alternatives to using DPSIs.
