HLS Technologies has preformed a study consisting of 17 scenarios
for common SQL changes. Each scenario was performed on the same
machine, whichwas running z/OS v1r5. The data structures, data and
DB2 Buffer setups were the same for each scenario acros v6-7-8. This
presentation contrasts the choices made by the DB2 optimizer. Some
choices are surprising, and some are not. The presentaiton will
begin with a few notes on current migration issues and surprises
that have come from our consulting engagements.
A detailed pdf is available from the HLS Technologies website as are
the DBRMs, data, data structures, and instructions for you to
recreate your own test of our 17 scenarios.
