Run Your Legacy VM and VSE Applications on DB2 for z/Linux
Monday, March 27, 2006

Join presenter Frank C. Fillmore, Jr., President of The Fillmore
Group and DB2 Gold Consultant, as he explains how organizations
running legacy VM and VSE applications can protect their investment
in custom business applications, while expanding their database
technical capabilities with DB2 for z/Linux. This live webcast will
run approximately 90 minutes and participants will have the
opportunity to pose questions to the presenter.

About the Webcast
Many VSE and VM shops have thousands of legacy programs comprising
years of tested and reliable business logic. Their data might be
locked up in VSE VSAM files. Or it might be stored in DB2 Server
for VSE&VM with its limited features and functionality. Join us for
this webcast where you will learn how to store your enterprise data
in DB2 on z/Linux, and continue to run your legacy applications
without modifications. Build new web-friendly applications while
preserving your investment in existing programming.

Attendees will learn about:
- Advantages of DB2 on z/Linux
- Distributed Relational Database Architecture (DRDA) access to DB2
on z/Linux from VSE and VM applications
- Exploiting Hipersockets
- VSE VSAM Redirector eBusiness Connector
- Software cost savings
- DB2 Server for VSE & VM Client
- Integrated Facility for Linux (IFL) hardware processor

About the Presenter
Frank founded The Fillmore Group in 1986 to provide DB2 technical
services. Since then he and his team at The Fillmore Group have

z/OS Data - Strategies to Extend Your Investment
Thursday, March 30, 2006

Join presenter John Schatko, Senior Consultant at The Fillmore
Group, as he explains how the use of tools like CICS VSAM
Transparency and Information Integrator Classic Federation are used
to open non-relational data to the enterprise, extending the value
of legacy transaction processing systems. This live webcast will
run approximately 90 minutes and participants will have the
opportunity to pose questions to the presenter.

About the Webcast
Mountains of data remain locked in IMS and VSAM on z/OS. In this
session, attendees will be introduced to two tools that enable
access to this data without costly and time-consuming database
migration and application re-development.

Seminar attendees will learn how to:
- Migrate VSAM data to DB2 on z/OS without re-writing applications.
- Access IMS and VSAM data in place using the SQL API from Linux and
Windows programs.

You will see how alternative technologies like CICS VSAM
Transparency (VT) and Information Integrator Classic Federation
(IICF) open up non-relational data to the enterprise for web-enabled
application development and data warehousing.

About the Presenter
John Schatko is a Senior Consultant with The Fillmore Group, an IBM
Business Partner that has been providing DB2 systems integration,
consulting, and training services for over 19 years. John has 17
years of DB2 DBA experience working on both mainframe (MVS and z/OS)
and LUW platforms. John has worked on multi-region-hundreds-of-user
OLTP applications as well as billion-row data warehouses. He has
been engaged on products ranging from CICS VSAM Transparency for
z/OS to DB2 Data Sharing and his responsibilities have included data
center operations technician, programmer, DB2 DBA team leader and
multi-site, multi-project DBA coordinator.
