Join us Monday, April 2 , 8:30 AM- 11:30 AM for technical insight into DB2 Version 8 & 9 System Programmer and DBA topics.

For our User Group meeting, we will have 2 speakers, Dave Jeffries will present What's new in DB2 for z/OS V9 and beyond and Bryan Smith will present IBM DB2 Utility Update: Las mejores prácticas (best practices). Dave Jeffries is the Senior Development Manager responsible for DB2 9 for zOS and future release development and Bryan Smith is a Senior Technical Staff Member, both from the Silicon Valley Lab.

What's new in DB2 for z/OS V9 and beyond: provide insight into DB2 9 and new technologies that are being developed for future releases of the DB2 for z/OS product. Special focus will be given to technical advances that will assist customers in managing data privacy, security, regulatory compliance, porting SQL across multiple platforms, and the scalability/availability/performance improvements that customers are looking for in DB2.

IBM DB2 Utility Update: Las mejores prácticas (best practices): reviews the features of the DB2 Version 8 for z/OS Utilities, discusses the features of DB2 9 for z/OS Utilities, including the use of the System z9 Integrated Information Processor (IBM zIIP), reviews a set of performance, availability, and usability best practices when using the utility suite, and previews the futures of the IBM DB2 Utilities.
