This presentation has been prepared for the DB2 Connect Virtual Users Group by IBM DB2 Connect technical support analyst Adam Koile, a subject matter expert in DB2 Connect security, and Mary Ann Ritosa, IBM DB2 for z/OS technical support. The session will provide a review of DB2 Connect security and authentication concepts and options for DB2 for LUW and DB2 for z/OS users. Security choices and recommended parameters for different environments and scenarios will be presented.

Presenters:
Adam Koile is a Subject Matter Expert on the IBM DB2 Security team. He began working as a Level 2 DB2 Technical Support Analyst in 2007 after graduating from DeVry University with a degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS). Adam is certified in DB2 for LUW versions 8.1, 9.1 and 9.7.

Mary Ann Ritosa is an Advisory Software Engineer and has been with IBM for 27 years. Mary Ann has worked with DB2 for z/OS since 1990. For 18 years, she was a DB2 for z/OS Database Administrator in both test and production environments, as well as a DB2 Systems Programmer, then joined the DB2 for z/OS Worldwide Technical Support team in 2007. Mary Ann technical support focus is in the technical support area of the DB2 for z/OS DDF facility or distributed communications.
