9:00-10:15 "Business Analytics Information Life Cycle Architecture"
Presenter: Maryela Weihrauch , IBM Distinguish Engineer, IBM Corporation

Getting more information out of the ever increasing amount of data almost in real time allows the business to make the right decisions in a timely manner, which will become the competitive advantage of the next decade. That puts new requirements on the data processing which in turn will change the traditional data warehouse architecture towards real-time analytics. First, Maryela will give an overview of business analytics. Based on many customer studies in the last years, Maryela will than summarize the findings in current data warehouse environments as well as present an architecture that will support the future business requirements. She also discusses in detail why zSystems, a trusted infrastructure for OLTP, provides a good infrastructure for real-time analytics.

10:15-10:30 Break

10:30-11:45 "IDAA: a DB2 Insider Story for Users"
Presenter: Maryela Weihrauch , IBM Distinguish Engineer, IBM Corporation

IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator (IDAA) V2.1 is an integrated analytic query accelerator powered by Netezza. Maryela will discuss the value proposition and design objectives, the query acceleration process in depth, how to use IDAA to accelerate queries, guidelines on how to best use IDAA, performance characteristics and considerations to achieve its best potential, as well as future directions. direct from DB2 IDAA development, as well as provide in-depth coverage on how to leverage IDAA to improve analytic query performance and lower the cost of data warehouses and business analytics on DB2 for z/OS.

Presenter: Maryela Weihrauch , IBM Distinguish Engineer, IBM Corporation

Two primary focuses for DB2 for z/OS 10 are scalability and performance. In order to maximize the potential of DB2 for z/OS 10, an understanding of storage scalability
metrics and DB2 transaction accounting is a must. Maryela will cover end-to-end stored procedure analysis. Statement level performance analysis will be covered for both stored procedure and non-nested applications.
