DB2 LUW documentation, Update on DB2 11.1 PDF -- None Planned
Well, got the word from IBM that decision was made to not provide for DB2 11.1 and going forward. I expressed my displeasure with that. Many years ago I was part of the group that had them go from html to PDF in the first place……Phil

OK, I see they are not online yet, only up to 10.5. Sometimes it takes a little longer for the PDFs to get out there. I have sent an inquiry to a friend at IBM regarding DB2 11.1 PDFs availability online. Phil

Hi Phil,

This doesn't seem to work - please provide the direct link to webpage for db2 11.1 pdf documentation download.

Unable to also download the db2 11.1 e-book authored by George Baklarz and others.

RE: DB2 LUW documentation, Update on DB2 11.1 PDF -- None Planned
(in response to Peter Backlund)

I also want to register my extreme displeasure at the lack of PDFs.  Not only do I prefer the PDFs for most access, but like Peter, there are times you don't have a (real) computer with you.  A cell phone is ok, but you don't always have wifi (or an unlimited celluar plan).  I remember Will Favero saying that he has a full set of manuals and redbooks loaded on his Kindle.  I'm not at that level, but I do have some.

Maybe IBM is worried that we will be looking at a version that is not the latest.  But at least we are looking at the manuals.  There are many developers and DBAs who never look anything up.

DB2 LUW documentation, Update on DB2 11.1 PDF -- None Planned
(in response to Joe Geller)
I also often refer to the pdf's - sometimes when a satisfactory search hit
isn't quickly obtained with the infocenter, the pdf's often come to the
rescue!

Phil, can you please inquire when the installable version of the db2 11 luw
infocenter is estimated to be available?

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Nadir

DB2 LUW documentation, Update on DB2 11.1 PDF -- None Planned
(in response to Joe Geller)
Glad to see that LUW is now in the same boat as z/OS! The "print to pdf" function was also removed in the latest version of KC so we all have a snowballs chance in hell of ever ever getting good old, easy to read, easy to search and pleasant size pdfs...
Sniff Sniff...

DB2 LUW documentation, Update on DB2 11.1 PDF -- None Planned

Yes, but we have DB2 12 for z/OS pdf manuals. DB2 for LUW apparently does
not.

Glad to see that LUW is now in the same boat as z/OS! The "print to pdf"
function was also removed in the latest version of KC so we all have a
snowballs chance in hell of ever ever getting good old, easy to read, easy
to search and pleasant size pdfs...

I agree that the Knowledge Center is a very good source of information.

However, I do often "work" offline, due to various internet problems.
I would therefore very much like to have documentation as PDFs.
I would also like to have the downloadable Information Center,

Any comments?

Apparently I have to try to survive with online documentation - sigh!

Thanks to everyone for trying,

I have read and understood Willie Favero's comments about documentation and PDFs.
I agree that the Knowledge Center is a very good source of information.

However, I do often "work" offline, due to various internet problems.
I would therefore very much like to have documentation as PDFs.
I would also like to have the downloadable Information Center,
which currently is at version 10.5

Any comments?
