Setup DB2 10.5 two active/active node for primary

Hello,

i want to setup db2 10.5 (LUW) two active/active node for same single database for primary side and one DR node for same database, then application will connect true the load balancer to database (from both nodes).

DB2 version 10.5.5

OS RedHat Linux 7.3 (POWER System - Little Endian)

Thanks

Hi Pushpa,

are going to use HADR with multiple standbys and ReadOnStandby enabled or purescale?

you mentioned a load balancer, have you already tested your workload to be suitable for this?

kind regards

Hello Markus,

possible option, shared disk cluster or HADR with multiple but my concern is can we setup both nodes active (active / active two nodes) on primary

Thanks

Pushpa

If you want to have multi-machine active nodes then you really need to be
looking at pureScale.

What is the reason why you want multiple active nodes ? Is it because
you need the capacity ? If that is the case, then it might be less
problematic to buy a bigger machine rather than have the complexity of
pureScale. But if you need it for availability then pureScale is the
thing.

There are plenty of options available, you will need to refine your requirements and match them to what is available and then what is affordable or doable….

ROS works pretty well for several of my clients for reports and reorgs are done overnight online so as to minimize any replay only window problems. Of course, pureScale is the high end of availability. Check out this presentation which highlights Q rep ,
