Reverse Engineer

Hi all - I'm trying to reverse engineer and come up with physical and logical entity. I don't have ERWIN. Can anyone suggest any other open source or free tool or trial that you have used recently? I've tableau however I've not explored it yet. Any suggestions / recommendations kindly let me know.

IBM Data Studio has this capability and is free.

If you want advanced capabilities you can always buy InfoSphere Data
Architect later (and shell share it).

Hi again,

Minor correction: I have just learned that the trial license is now 90 days (not 30 days).

I assume you download the trial license key along with the software itself.

I have always used Visio. You can connect to a database and import your tables into the software.  As long as you have your PK and FK it will auto map all relationships between tables otherwise you can manual create the relationships.  Although Visio is not free, but I believe it comes with MS Office so if you have MS Office at work then you should be able to use it.
