Changes to DB2 catalog/ directory during DB2 migration.

Changes to DB2 catalog/ directory during DB2 migration.
Dear Experts,

Is the understanding correct that (following) changes to DB2 catalog/
directory are achieved incrementally at different stages during DB2
migration?

1. New catalog and directory objects are created while migrating to DB2
V11 CM
2. New columns to DB2 catalog tables are added while migrating to DB2
V11 CM
3. Columns in DB2 catalog tables are altered while migrating to DB2 V11
ENFM

What I mean to say is: - DB2 catalog/ directory will *only* change
“partially” when migrating to V11 CM through application of job DSNTIJTC.
And *REST* of the changes to the catalog/ directory are made by DSNTIJEN
which converts DB2 to enabling-new-function mode or enabling-new-function
mode*.

Is my understanding correct? Please confirm.

Thanks,
Arvind

Yes. It's the ENFM job that will invalidate packages pointing at SYSTABLES and one or two other catalog tables, so make sure those get rebound after words.

Hi:

That's correct. Though if you want to list only the changes made to the catalog and directory (or if you're required to report about that) you might want to include the job DSNTIJCV that comes after DSNTIJNF (and after DSNTIJCB), which converts the catalog and directory to the extended RBA format.

"What I mean to say is" is correct, but the actual implementation is incomplete.

During the migration to ENFM several tablespaces are dropped and the others are created.
The most significant of these is that DSNDB06.SYSCOPY is dropped and
DSNDB06.SYSTSCPY is created.
