KC Export Anamoly - Are they contradicting each other?

Hi,

The following words clearly contradicts with each other. Is it not? Am I missing some thing?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Valid file type modifiers for the export utility: IXF file format

x is an ASCII character string. The value is interpreted as the code page of the data in the output data set. Converts character data from this code page to the application code page during the export operation

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Valid file type modifiers for the export utility: DEL (delimited ASCII) file format

x is an ASCII character string. The value is interpreted as the code page of the data in the output data set. Converts character data to this code page from the application code page during the export operation

The File Type Modifier Code Page given in export Utility behaviour varies as per the exported file format.

How can it be? Even though English is not my native language, sure those KC words contradict each other.

Any Inputs?

Thanks,

Harish Pathangay

**please note my email address change**
Clarification, please. In what way is this related to Db2?

RE: KC Export Anamoly - Are they contradicting each other?
(in response to Philip Sevetson)

Hi,

It is about Export Utility behavior and documentation in Knowledge Center not matching with each other.

If a new user learning DB2 reads, he will get confused. I do need double confirmation from group member[s] that KC words are indeed incorrect. I kindly request if any one can confirm on that.

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEPGG_10.5.0/com.ibm.db2.luw.admin.cmd.doc/doc/r0008303.html

Thanks,

Hi Harish,

This is likely a documentation typo [ixf seems correct and that for del
format, from and to got accidentally interchanged] - you may want to report
this to feedback at bottom of webpage.

Nadir

Hi Harish,

You can bring the inconsistency in both to their attention and let them
decide to fix it.

Hi,
I do not want to do that. I need to say which is correct and which is wrong.
Mailing to this forum for that clarity only.

I consider the text under DEL format is correct, IXF format is incorrect.
Who’s with me here?

Thanks,
Harish Pathangay
