Applications rebind after v11 migration

What is the general rule of thumb for rebinding applications after v11 Migration?

Should all applications be rebound?

What are the implications if you dont rebind?

thanks

Bill,

I suggest reading the BIND discussion pages in the “SHARE 2014 DB2 11 Technical Overview” PDF (John Iczkovitz, IBM). https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj_ktHnjcPWAhWEPiYKHd4sDKAQFggoMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fshare.confex.com%2Fshare%2F123%2Fwebprogram%2FHandout%2FSession15437%2FSHARE%25202014%2520DB2%252011%2520Technical%2520Overview.pdf&usg=AFQjCNHocrdVX6LqLb9Q5fEXjY9TjcKgPw .

Tl;dr

1) It’s possible to proceed without REBIND

2) There are some advantages which you gain without REBINDing

3) Other advantages are not available without REBIND.
