DB2 11 for z/OS - Non-partitioned tables - Incorrect CARDF in SYSTABLEPART

Hi,

We are using DB2 11 on z/OS. We noticed that for some of the non-partitioned tables, the cardf value in sysibm.systablepart table is in multiple folds of the cardf value present in sysibm.systables table.

Interestingly the totalrows value in sysibm.systablespacestats table is in sync with the cardf value in systablepart. But cardf on systables matches with actual number of rows in the table. Runstats on the table are pretty much current.

Has anyone noticed this issue?

Regards,

Manoj

Manoj,

What do you mean by “multiple folds”? Are you saying that SYSIBM.SYSTABLEPART.CARDF is some integer multiple of SYSIBM.SYSTABLES.CARDF?

Manoj,

are you using TABLESAMPLE? We found this to be the culprit.
