Trying to make python to talk to DB2 on Z/OS

Hello,

I am trying to make python to talk to DB2 on z/OS. one of the steps is "Activate your DB2 for z/OS server" . which is to either run db2connectactivate utility to activate the server or copy the DB2 Connect license to installation_path/license directory. from what I understand that db2connectactivate  comes from DB2 connect unlimited edition but we do not have DB2 connect unlimited lisence, is there any alternative ?

Hi,

Yes, db2connectactivate is from the unlimited edition.

The alternative is to "[...] copy the DB2 Connect license to installation_path/license directory".

In IBM Passport Advantage you can download your license file. Look for Db2 connect license activation kit.

Hello,

The rules of the DB2-L listserv require that you use your full name. Is “D Gosh” you entire name? If not, please update your IDUG profile.

Thanks,

Dan – DB2-L admin

Hi Deb,

I'm in the exact same situation, so I use Spark to get to Db2 for z/OS. We recently released an article on that, here's the link...

Hope that helps
