You should download and read the CA Database Management for Db2 for z/OS Install Guide. It can be downloaded from docops.ca.com.

Jitinder,

I would suggest you speak to your local CA representative, or call CA Support.

There are important decisions to be made when choosing which version best fits your requirements.

It really depends – if you are going to Db2 12 post function level 500 then definitely incremental release 20. If you are looking for a feature stable release then r19 is the choice since ir20 is “a continuous delivery model” like Db2 12 so new features are being added after each sprint.
You also need to look at the features delivered in r20 – maybe there’s something you want so badly that you should go for ir20.

I have to ask – why would you schedule an upgrade so soon (days?) if you are uncertain as how to perform this upgrade?

Thanks for reply,

We are now upgraded to DB2 V11 just 2 months back and now we are using DB2 V11.

If you’re on V11 of DB2 then you should be good with going to R19 of the CA Tools. I performed the upgrade about 6 months back and it was fairly trivial. Just get some assistance from CA and you should be fine. It’s a pretty straight forward upgrade.
