Packages in syspackage, can't be freed?
DB2 V5 OS/390, Attempting to clean up sysibm.syspackage. find a few thousand old packages that are no longer used when issuing a free against packages receive:

FREE PACKAGE (VMPASB.ASD110.(2000-11-07-17.05.58.216014))
DSNT238I -DBT1 FREE ERROR
USING A9139 AUTHORITY
PACKAGE =
FHDB2T.VMPASB.ASD110.(2000-11-07-17.05.58.216014)
DOES NOT EXIST
DSNT233I -DBT1 UNSUCCESSFUL FREE FOR
PACKAGE =

Checked error message says that pkg does not exist and to verify location, collid, and package have done this and still receive same error. Any ideas??? Thanks.

Just a thought but if you are generating the drops, is it
possible that some of the versions have a trailing space
or other characters and that you are truncating them,
thereby trying to drop the wrong thing?
