bind error?

John Vernon

bind error?
I have (for the first time) installed a new DB2 subsystem on a new LPAR. I
am trying to install a BMC product (that I have successfully installed
repeated times in the past). The following error is received:

BIND PLAN(ACT612DK) OWNER(TRSA65) QUALIFIER(ACT612D)
VALIDATE(BIND) ACTION(REPLACE) PKLIST(*.ACT612_D_MAIN.*)

DSNT245I -DB2P LOCATION * CANNOT BE SPECIFIED

THE LOCAL DB2 IS NOT DEFINED

DSNT201I -DB2P BIND FOR PLAN ACT612DK NOT SUCCESSFUL

I have called BMC and they are looking into the problem, but I think that
the error is mine, in something I did or did not do in the DB2
install....any suggestions?

TIA,
john

John:

On this parameter: PKLIST(*.ACT612_D_MAIN.*)

Try it like this:
PKLIST(ACT612_D_MAIN.*)

Re: bind error?

John,

quoting (as always):

"...The problem occurs when an '*' is specified as a location-id in the
PKLIST of a bind (i.e. *.COL.PKG) and DDF has not been loaded. The
location token in the DSNT245 message is invalid."

HTH.
