PeopleSoft / DB2 Connect problems

PeopleSoft / DB2 Connect problems
I have a questions about problems anyone has encountered running SQR
programs from a client in a PeopleSoft environment using DB2 Client
Application Enabler version 6.1, with any level of fixpacks.

We are running PeopleSoft applications (HR and FS), using tools version
7.07.
Our database server is DB2 v5.1 running on MVS.
We have most of our PeopleSoft clients running on DB2 CAE version 5.2,
fixpack 6.

As version 5.2 support is being discontinued, we have been looking into
upgrading DB2 CAE and DB2 Connect to version 6. During testing, we have
encountered problems running SQR's in 2-tier mode where the client
workstations are running DB2 CAE Version 6, fixpack 6. We get an abend of
SQR on the client as follows:

SQRW caused an invalid page fault in
module DB2CLI.DLL at 0157:6cee2e3b.

We have run tests on the following operating systems and DB2 connect
versions, with the following results :

The following scenarios have produced abends

1. V 6.1 CAE on Windows 95 client thru a version 5.2 DB2 connect
gateway to a version 5.1 MVS/DB2 server.
2. V 6.1 CAE on Windows 95 client thru a version 6.1 DB2 connect
gateway to a version 5.1 MVS/DB2 server.
3. V 6.1 CAE on Windows 95 client thru a version 6.1 DB2 connect
gateway to a version 6.1 MVS/DB2 server.
4. V 6.1 DB2 Connect on Windows NT client directly to MVS version 5.1
server.

Of course, we have no abends with a client running DB2 CAE or DB2 Connect
version 5.2. I would like to know if anyone in a similar environment is
having similar problems, and if anyone has found a solution. I can be
contacted at the following places.

I recall having a problem (can't remember the specifics) with SQRs and DB2
Connect V6.1 PE. I did not fight it, just went back to V5.2. I think V6.1
and some fix pack level address the problem. Check customer connection and
see if you get any hits.

Victor:

PeopleSoft has documentation on there site regarding what combinations of
Operating System 95/98/NT/2000, CAE release, DB2 Connect EE and PE works
with a specific PeopleTools release:

The Docs are just hard to find on their website...

PeopleTools Release: 7.07
Client Type: Windows Client
Public Comments:
DB2 EE and DB2 EEE come with the DB2 Connect product which allows you to
connect to DB2 UDB on UNIX, OS/390, Windows NT/2000 and AS/400. DB2 CAE
only supports connections to UNIX and NT/2000. Either can be used and are
supported.

When using Netexpress 2.0 a different CBLBLD.bat is necessary - see update
& fixes...

When using DB2 Connect v6.1 Fix Pack 2 is required and the following
setting needs to be set: DISABLEKEYSETCURSOR=1

Not all Peoplesoft applications support every combination supported on
PeopleTools. Please consult the PeopleSoft application release notes and
upgrade notes for possible support restrictions.

Victor,
Please check you have DISABLEKEYSETCURSOR = 1 as described in our
