We only abend our image copy jobs if the RC > 4.

Suppress DSNU406I Messages
List,

I am getting "DSNU406I %DSP DSNUBACP - FULL IMAGE COPY SHOULD BE TAKEN FOR BOTH
LOCAL SITE AND RECOVERY SITE" messges. I understand why and how I am getting
them. Our imagecopy steps have a return code checking step which are getting
triggered because the return code is greater than zero. The return code
checking step abends the job if the return code is greater than zero and the
DBA staff gets a phone call in the night to look at the job. I do not want to
change all imagecopy jobs to produce both local and off-site copies. I did not
find the following questions addressed in the archives. We are a DB2 v4 OS/390
shop.

Is there a way to supress this particular message and the resulting return code
of four or do I have to change the abend checking step to allow any return code
of four to pass as ok?
Our shop has a general policy of reviewing all non-zero return code imagecopy
jobs, including return codes of four. Is this procedure prevalent in other
shops or do other shops generally ignore return codes less than eight?

Thanks,
Carl Nelson

Both the DSNU406I and the DSNU402I will cause this RC=4 and there is
no product external to supress the RC=4 for one or both of these
messages.
