Db2 Fundamentals Courses at NA23

Registration for the onsite z/OS FUNDAMENTALS or LUW FUNDAMENTALS course gave you exclusive access to Fundamentals from Monday, May 15 - Thursday, May 18. Optional badging / certification testing was offered on Thursday, May 18. At the end of your course, participants joined onsite IDUG attendees in sessions through the conclusion of IDUG NA on Friday, May 19, as they took advantage of Fundamentals AND benefited from the overall IDUG 2023 North America Db2 Tech Conference experience! 


Fundamentals courses were only offered onsite. Please note that you must remain in the track you have registered for – z/OS or LUW.


Db2 for z/OS Fundamentals Course

Experience the IDUG conference while working on your fundamentals skills! The Db2 Fundamentals for z/OS Course, which begins on Monday, May 14 and closes on Thursday, May 18, runs alongside traditional technical and breakout sessions and allows participants to master Db2 fundamentals while taking part in IDUG 2023 North America Db2 Tech Conference activities. This four-day for-beginners Db2 z/OS basic course is designed for z/OS database administrators who need to acquire the basic skills required to administer a Db2 database in a z/OS environment. Db2 12 for z/OS beginning DBAs can develop fundamental skills or recognition through lectures and hands-on exercises of:

  • TSO/E and ISPF
  • JCL and SDSF
  • Data Sets
  • Db2 Utilities
  • Db2 Objects
  • Db2 Logging
  • Structured Query Language
  • Db2 Program Preparation

Db2 for LUW Fundamentals Course

Experience the IDUG conference while working on your fundamentals skills! The Db2 Fundamentals for LUW Course, which begins on Monday, May 14 and closes on Thursday, May 18, runs alongside traditional technical and breakout sessions and allows participants to master Db2 fundamentals while taking part in IDUG 2023 North America Db2 Tech Conference activities. This four-day for-beginners Db2 LUW basic course is designed for individuals who will plan, implement, and maintain Db2 11.5 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows databases. These skills can also be utilized to support cloud based databases using Db2 on Cloud or Db2 Hosted environments
