Hello again to our IDUG members all over the world! I’ll start this letter with the four most-uttered words at the 2022 IDUG EMEA Db2 Tech Conference in Edinburgh two weeks ago: “THIRD TIME’S A CHARM!” IDUG really appreciates all our on-site attendees and online participants!
We opened registration for EMEA 2020 in Edinburgh—only to close it (and re-open for Virtual only). We opened registration for EMEA 2021 in Edinburgh—only to close it, too (and re-open for Virtual only). But when we opened registration for EMEA 2022 for a third time —we kept it open for on-site attendance, (we still offered online participation), and we surpassed our goals for overall attendance and for face-to-face participation! Thank you so much to the
EMEA Conference Planning Committee,
speakers, and
partners—without whom this conference would not have been possible—for an incredible week!
Our week started with a tribute and standing ovation for John Campbell who retired earlier this year from IBM for his dedication to Db2 and IDUG and ended with a wonderful Women In Technology panel discussion. Edinburgh is a stunning city and provided for so many fantastic
experiences and memories. You can check out the full rundown (or, filter by type of session) of
EMEA’s sessions and activities here.
My quick item for you to consider now to bolster your career development and to enhance your effective utilization of Db2 in 2022 and beyond is this: Follow IDUG in your favourite social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) to receive our latest and greatest information. There will be several announcements soon regarding our North America and EMEA conferences, the return of a face-to-face IDUG event for Australasia, and several other activities in other emerging markets across the globe.
IDUG is honoured to strengthen everyone in this community by providing the highest quality education and services for Db2. We appreciate your support! Until next time—wherever you may be reading this—stay healthy and stay safe.
