After shifting this year’s IDUG EMEA Db2 Tech Conference from an in-person event to a virtual platform, the Conference Committee was interested to see how the IDUG experience would translate to the screen. With more than 750 attendees and speakers from around the globe, the event brought the Db2 community virtually together for deep explorations of the technology as well as a look ahead to the future. As always, the generous and collaborative spirit of the IDUG community was out in full force.
Although we missed having everyone together in person, we were so impressed with the enthusiasm from both attendees and speakers. As usual, the caliber of the technical Db2 content was fantastic, with presenters exploring every facet of the technology in nuanced and original ways. Attendees chimed in to ask great questions and to share with speakers how much they got out of each session. Many of the presentations were so valuable, attendees were eager to re-watch them to absorb every detail.
One of the great aspects of IDUG events is that each attendee can find the presenters and topics that speak to them. Along with days packed with technical presentations, the event featured incredible keynotes, expert panels, and even a sneak peek at the new Db2 version, 11.5.5. However, with more than 750 attendees, you might get more than 750 different answers if you asked everyone for their own personal highlights. That’s the beauty of IDUG—each attendee gets to craft their own personal experience.
If you missed the conference, you still have a chance to access the content. Register today and you’ll unlock the conference portal which will allow you to view and replay all the session recordings. These presentations can serve as a knowledge base for you and your team all year long.
As we look ahead to the coming year, we hope we can be together again in person. We are already starting to put the pieces in place for our 2021 EMEA Db2 Tech Conference in Edinburgh. We hope to see you there. In the meantime, we will continue to be your connection to the Db2 community. For more resources and to connect with other members, be sure to join our online forums.
