This is a very exciting time for me to be writing this message. You will, no doubt, have seen the announcement from IBM for DB2 10 on LUW. There are some great features available in this release and I am sure many of you are looking forward to using this new product. At the IDUG DB2 Tech Conference in Denver, Colorado in May, we will have a whole education track dedicated to this new release. I am thrilled to announce this to you as it will certainly be an integral part of my conference experience. There is a significant amount of work taking place to make sure that we have the right sessions and presenters so that you have amazing takeaways on this new version. However, this engagement will not start and end at the conference. There will be a new community set up on idug.org specifically for DB2 10 for LUW. It's an opportunity to ask questions and share knowledge with DB2 users around the globe (as well as IBM experts from the lab). This will enable presentations, white papers, etc. to be located in one centralized place. As the knowledge and sharing increases, so will the information in the community section.
Let me also remind you that the IDUG DB2 Tech Conference in Denver is not just about this new launch or for DB2 for LUW. There will be plenty of other great opportunities for education - on DB2 for z/OS as well as DB2 for LUW. Whether it be the hour long presentations, one-day seminars, special interest groups or informal corridor chats, there are a phenomenal amount of learning opportunities. I am certainly excited about seeing many of you there.
