Some showers over the past weekend announced that September is just around the corner.
This time of year is always very vibrant for me: everybody is back from vacation, recharged and ready to start over. It's the time of the year when most of the planning happens—we decide what's going to be done in the following year, how, and how much.
IDUG is no exception. This is a time to look back at how we performed while also planning for the year ahead. Our annual budget is getting to the final stage as well.
Mid-August was an important time for IDUG since we held two events in Brazil for the first time in a long while.
We received very positive feedback from participants, speakers, and volunteers involved in both Sao Paolo and Brasilia. With that kind of positive energy, I'm sure we will be looking to repeat these events next year.
Thanks to all participants, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers for making these events such a success!
The next period is also packed with IDUG events!
This month you are invited to take part in IDUG AU, which takes place in Sydney on September 11-13, 2018. The three-day agenda is packed with technical sessions on data and database management, development and engineering, data science, and analytics and new technologies, including pre-certification workshops and a workshop on data science and machine learning. Make sure to seize your opportunity to get certified!
I just got confirmation that 2018 Db2 LUW Lab Day will take place on October 1, and you will be able to join it online. Make sure you don't miss this update on the latest news from the world of Db2 LUW.
For details, agenda, and instructions on how to connect please check here.
Just a week after that, IBM Silicon Valley Lab opens their doors to IDUG members for the three days of the Data Tech Summit featuring four tracks of educational content on Db2 for z/OS trends, tools, analytics and machine Learning, and application development. This event will include hands-on labs and workshops. Please check here for the agenda, registration, housing info, and all other event details.
With all that going on, we will be just warmed up to the right working/learning temperature for the big IDUG Db2 Tech Conference in Malta. Early bird prices are still available for a short while, so make sure to reserve your seat in time.
And that's about all from me for now. If you have ideas about what you would like to see at IDUG in the future, please drop me a note and we'll consider it during our planning process.
Have a great day and talk to you in a month!
