    Hi Deb,

what are you looking for exactly?
For SQL there is the "SQL Reference for Cross-Platform Reference" which you can find here https://community.ibm.com/community/user/hybriddatamanagement/blogs/lynn-chou/2018/10/01/the-sql-reference-for-cross-platform-development
For the data migration I have used the IBM Migration Toolkit, which is probably hard to find nowadays. It helps you to transfer the tables to a Db2 LUW. You might have a look at https://github.com/IBM/idmt or the Database Conversion Workbench https://www.ibm.com/analytics/data-migration.

    Cheers

    Thank you..Ronald.

How I will connect DB2 AS400 from DB2 Luw windows machine to get the DDL and export Data.

Having done a number of such migrations there are a number of ways you can think about -

    1) You can use a federated link from LUW to the iSeries to create basic tables using "CREATE LIKE".   However this will be missing a number of things, including indexes and iSeries specific features.  However you can use SQL to derive these fairly easily.
    2) You can use the iSeries Windows based client tools to generate DDL.  You have to be a bit selective in what you generate, as some iSeries features don't translate.  One particular thing to note is that some items which appear as "views" aren't really what you'd think of as views in a typical database - they are more like MQTs, and typically you wouldn't create these on LUW.
    3) Even if you take across all iSeries objects, you are typically going to spend a bit of time tuning as the two databases have very different optimisation techniques.  Typically an automated migration, with some global changes, can catch a very high percentage of objects.  But you'll need to put in the manual time for the few percent that don't convert and to get a good LUW-specific set of indexes.
    4) Be aware that on iSeries files and tables are interchangeable, and often you'll find situations in the data where changes made to files aren't really compatible with the associated tables.

    Hi Deb,

let me this google for you...
Either use this description (a bit more iSeries specific)
    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/using-jdbc-connector-connect-db2-iseries-as400
or the general approach via Db2 for LUW own drivers
    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/accessing-iseries-db2-as400-database-jdbc-0

    Cheers
