We jumped from v10 CM8* to v12, so I have not yet been able to catch up with new features.
My understanding from v8-v10 was that if you add a column after a varchar, that would cause Db2 to space fill the varchar, is that still the case with v12 ?
Trying to avoid an unload/drop/create/load situation for a large table.
I think RRF solved that problem long ago, as Varchars are 'physically' at the end of the table these days.
I wanted to make sure we were using RRF, but the below answered my question since we created all new UTS in v12 and ported our data over.
Just to complete this thread, I am adding what I found.
RRF ZParm was depreciated in v12:
"BRF/RRF has been removed from the documentation. • Still supported from a utility syntax perspective. – New objects created will always be RRF."
