Choices abound for data warehouse and business intelligence today. There are the standard DBMS, specialized DBMS, appliances, and products in almost any color and size. There is clearly a right fit for each and every one of these products, but it still surprises many people that this includes the use of System z. We will narrow in on a few important trends - consolidation, modernization, and operational BI, and what is driving those trends. Finally we will look at the role of System z and how it can be applied to help with some of these current and emerging trends.
