This session will discuss successful implementation of DB2 LUW WLM at SafeAuto Insurance. We will take a look at all of the necessary steps including preliminary analysis, steps and commands to implement WLM according to business needs, and monitoring and validation of expected outcomes. Attendees should take away a cookbook recipe that can be used a model for WLM success in their own organizations.

Getting Ready. Analysis - what applications are running, who are the users, and what are the business priorities?

Initial Monitoring. Confirm applications, users, workloads, and priorities.

Configuration of WLM. Defining WLM objects and commands to implement.

Testing WLM configuration against TEST/QA databases, results, verification of desired outcomes.

Implementation of WLM in production, monitoring, and verification of desired outcomes. Adjustments and refinements as necessary. Project summary.
