Speaker Bio: Matt Huras is the chief architect of DB2 for Linux Unix and Windows. He was a founding member of the development team, more than 20 years ago, and has played a key role in implementing and/or leading many of DB2's marquee capabilities, including it's multi-threading engine, it's prefetching I/O subsystem, compression, pureScale, and several others. He possesses a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Master of Engineering from the University of Toronto. Matt is a Distinguished Engineer, Master Inventor, and member of the IBM Academy.

Abstract:  The DB2 LUW development team has been hard at work preparing our next release. This presentation provides a technical overview of this release. It summarizes the value proposition of each key feature in the release, as well as the fundamental technology enhancements that underpin the new features. In addition, it will cover the key controls DBAs have to tailor the new features to particular installations and/or workloads.
