Speaker Bio: Philip Nelson has worked with DB2 for z/OS since 1989 (V2.1) and with DB2 for LUW since the beginning. He has been involved with IDUG since 1998, and currently serves on the Content Committee and the EMEA CPC. His interests include exploiting DB2 new features and helping developers make the most of DB2 functionality.

Abstract:  Cloud providers offer a range of storage solutions, at different price points and with different capabilities. Starting in DB2 10.5 Fixpack 5, and much more in DB2 11.1, DB2 supported exploiting these storage mechanisms directly. This presentation covers experiences using cloud storage with DB2, both before the direct exploitation and afterwards
