Abstract:  Platform as a Service (PaaS) is proving to be one of the best ways to balance agility, reliability, and security.

One lingering question in DB community is: “Are DevOps practices limited to application code deployments, server builds or can DevOps principles be utilized for Databases as well? If so, what tools and how?”

Is Database as Code (DaC) a pragmatic solution to high deployment lead times? Is this a solution to the bottleneck-DBA? Should DBAs be the only ones allowed to make changes to databases?

This session seeks to share data-driven methodology we followed to identify DBA workload that could be onboarded to DevOps. We also share unique problems we faced, how we solved them and toolsets we used.
