Speaker Bio: Mark is currently the leader of the Upgrade Centre of Excellence where he is responsible for ensuring that customers moving to Hybrid Data Management solutions have a smooth end-to-end experience. Previously Mark held a variety of leadership roles in Db2 development and support, and in these roles has driven adoption of Machine Learning to improve efficiency and the client experience.

Co-speaker Bio: Jason Shayer: Jason Shayer is a Content Design Manager for the Db2 family of products and has been working with Db2 LUW databases since 1998. He's keenly interested in finding ways to provide customers with the right content at the right time.

Steve Darling: Steve has been involved in technical documentation for over 20 years. Moving from print journalism into instructional design and story board authoring, Steve spent several years creating desktop and web-based training modules before transitioning into more traditional areas of technical documentation. He has been a content designer at IBM Canada for the past three years, creating and managing IBM Knowledge Center content for both Data Server Manager and Db2.


Abstract:  This bootcamp takes you end-to-end through the essentials of creating a Machine Learning model in Python. After a brief introduction to Machine Learning, we will cover the essentials of Python and then dive right into a hands on sessions where you will experience:

* Setting up Watson Studio for Machine Learning development
* Data cleansing
* Visualizing key characteristics of the data
* Feature selection
* Selecting and training the ML model
* Evaluating the ML model
* High-level intro to Deep Learning
* Next steps for learning more about ML
