WS3: DBA Aid-Kit - How to Respond to Db2 Issues

NOTE: Due to instructor unavailability, this workshop unfortunately had to be cancelled.

Db2 is known as a robust and reliable database management system and a perfect match for private and public cloud environments. However, sometimes you might face database related issues. The session will cover the first steps in the process of problem determination and problem source identification (PD/PSI). The session will describe the strategy and process to encircle and find the problem by asking the right questions and will share best practices for the first occurrence data capture (FODC) tools available for the DBA. This self-paced workshop allows new DBA’s to start with the essential procedures and might surprise Db2 experts with not so well known features of Db2 for problem analysis.

WS4: Db2 DevOps Automation With Zowe CLI Workshop

Toine Michielse, Broadcom & Denis Tronin, Broadcom

Broadcom recently delivered the innovative new Zowe DBM-Db2 CLI plugin to help support your Db2 DevOps needs. The plugin provides a set of CLI commands for Db2 schema provisioning and deployment, that allows developers to provision and adjust the Db2 objects they need to develop and test an application. These commands are also easily integrated into various continuous delivery tools, such as Jenkins. We are excited to provide a four-hour, instructor-led, hands-on workshop that lets you try the new plugin for yourself. In this session, you will learn how to configure the plug-in and use it for Db2 schema (DDL) changes in the web-based IDE (Visual Studio Code).
