Transparent Archiving, which was a new feature in Db2 z/OS version 11, allows for the segregation of data between the live transactional table and a separate historical table. Although the two tables are linked together, they exist as two separate objects. Transparent Archiving is simply a way to provide relief to your fast growing and performance critical tables.
