Can you believe it’s October already? This has been an exciting year for IDUG and it’s not over yet! The IDUG DB2 Tech Conference in Dublin, Ireland is taking place next month. Held 15-20 November, this event offers six days of education sessions, half and full-day workshops, more than 100 one-hour technical sessions, and more.
View the session schedule and conference overview of education and training opportunities, technical certifications and discounts available for the conference. Don’t forget, the IDUG website also provides you with content for justifying your attendance by outlining the many benefits of attending.
If you want to be part of something new and exciting then going to Dublin is a perfect opportunity to relive the early years of something emerging. With IDUG announcing “IBM and Apache Spark: The Start of Something Big in Data and Design” we have added a whole track for Tuesday to help get you educated on this developing new era of data management.
As I became aware of this initiative from IBM I was overly thrilled and it was a great inspiration for me to watch the Tech Talk on Hadoop and the Future of Data and the Cloud hosted by Rob Thomas, VP, Development, IBM Analytics. Please take the time to watch this thought-provoking panel discussion and meet up with Pat Selinger (Mother of SQL), Don Haderle (Father of DB2), and Bruce Lindsay, the renowned IBM Fellows that we grew up with as we were a lot younger and DB2 happened to be the new kid on the block.
