It feels like yesterday that I was presenting at IDUG 2015 in Dublin. But there is no time lose. Today IDUG 2016 in Brussels opens its doors and welcomes you for a week fully packed with great sessions on DB2 for z/OS, DB2 LUW, Application Development and Analytics.
After a couple of years "just" speaking at IDUG conferences, I am experiencing this year’s IDUG from a conference planning perspective.
It was a great experience for me as a newbie to witness the well-oiled Conference Planning Committee machine working. This year we have more than 278 abstract submissions which had to be categorized, order, and then finally rated.
It is impressing to witness the breadth of topics submitted around database management, application development and analytics. From bread and butter topics like high availability to R, Cloud and of course Spark. There certainly have been many moments I hoped we could have an additional week for IDUG just to get more of these great topics covered. The agenda we finally came up with is our understanding what reflects best of the best to represent IDUG missions to providing the highest quality education and services designed to promote the effective utilization of DB2.
The whole grid is accessible either via the web ( http://www.idug.org/p/cm/ld/fid=1030 ) or via the IDUG mobile app. I would highly recommend you to Download (http://www.idug.org/p/cm/ld/fid=1077) the Mobile app to build your agenda and plan your day, access all presentation abstracts, download the proceedings - and keep all of this information in your pocket!
Also, all presentation material is available for download (http://www.idug.org/p/cm/ld/fid=1117). In addition to the complete pack (all presentations), you also can just download material for certain tracks.
Finally, we are strong believers of work-life balance. So, make sure you have marked the upcoming parties throughout the week in your mobile app agenda. We wish us all an amazing conference!
