2018, I'm ready. Out with the old, in with the new. This could very well be a New Year’s quote and it holds some truth for IDUG. Very soon you will see our mail address changing to:

I already mentioned in one of my previous blogs that the board was busy reviewing IDUG’s existing contracts with suppliers and service providers and trying to optimize the budget as much as possible. In that exercise we published a request for proposals for assisting us with association and event management. We did receive several responses and have selected Your Conference Connection as our new management company. For the IDUG organization this is a big step as we’ve never done this before – and we’ve been in existence for 30 years now.  

I’m confident the new team can bring in new ideas and change some of the procedures, which will allow us to operate with a smaller budget. I do ask for everyone to understand we might need a little bit more time to answer your questions. All teams will do their best to make the transitioning as smooth as possible.

I do want to take the opportunity to thank SmithBucklin for the outstanding work they delivered over the past 27 years, (the first years, IDUG was small and run only by volunteers) and for their professionalism in helping us transition. 

We at IDUG have resumed work after the holiday season and already have approved investing in online streaming part of the North America conference that will take place in Philadelphia. We’re also discussing ways to share content that has been recorded at previous events.

I do wish you all the best for 2018, the year in which IDUG will be 30!!
