What have you missed during month of May?
The main topic of the month from the content committee was Data Science, Analytics and Machine Learning. By its size you can consider each topic as its own domain, so there will always be new things to share and look at. We began with an article by Javier Estrada Benavides on Feature Engineering. https://www.idug.org/p/bl/ar/blogaid=849
After that, Sridhar Pratik shared with us a very interesting idea for exploiting Real Time Statistics data from Db2 for z/OS into Machine Learning to look at how we can obtain even more insight from the information Db2 is already generating for us. https://www.idug.org/p/bl/ar/blogaid=856
Later, Rodolfo Custodio showed that Db2 Statistics and Accounting traces can be leveraged from Python and R for data visualization which can later be used for capacity planning, reporting, dashboard creation and more. He showed that a DBA should take on some of the traits of Data Analysts. https://www.idug.org/p/bl/ar/blogaid=863
Finally, Ke Wei Wei and Guanjun Cai gave us an overview of how IBM Watson Machine Learning for z/OS can use to take advantage from the data inside your Mainframe or anywhere to create Machine Learning pipelines and even predict anomalies within Db2. https://www.idug.org/p/bl/ar/blogaid=867
