In this month with focus on "legacy migration" we last week focussed on the interaction between new technologies and DB2.This week we'll put the focus on migrating to a new release of DB2, both and z/OS and LUW. The first article deals with rebinding after migrating on DB2 for z/OS.
I hope you've enjoyed the first article on using SCALA with DB2 for z/OS. Ludovic Janssens of Infocura in Belgium, continues on this subject offering more in depth information comparing withing SCALA the data access methods Anorm, SQueryL and Slick.
The first article on this months topic "legacy migrations" is written by our young volunteer Ludovic Janssens of Infocura in Belgium. He provides us with a very good overview of the possibilities of new technologies.
I’m writing this on my way back from the IDUG DB2 Tech Conference in Barcelona where it was great catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. Time spent with other DBAs is different than with anyone one else (you non-DBAs, please keep your comments to yourselves!).
This month’s focus is “legacy migrations,” and in the next few weeks we will have a number of migration stories by customers and consultants. Be sure to regularly check in and find out how they handled some of the challenges.
