How many times during your work week are you asked for some sample data for developers or testers to use? They want real data so they can test the accuracy of the application or do real performance testing. But that conflicts with your need to protect the privacy of sensitive information with the database. Regulations and compliance requirements mandate that you protect sensitive data no matter where it resides in your enterprise. Chris will walk you through issues and solutions for quickly building test databases with data that is accurate but masked to protect privacy. By accurate I mean that the data maintains referential integrity between tables, masks data in such a way that credit card numbers or SSN are still valid but fictitious to ensure your real live data is not exposed.
