?This query used to run in 5 seconds and now takes an hour! How could the optimizer do this to me?? Sounds familiar? But are you sure it is DB2's fault? In this session, we will examine the challenges faced by cost-based optimization and identify steps to minimize if not eliminate such behavior. We will also cover various ways of influencing and stabilizing the optimal access path. We will change the focus from ?why doesn?t IBM?? complaint to the more positive ?what can I do TODAY?? action plan.
