Migration from V8 of DB2 to DB2 10 ("skip migration") is a tempting feature for many customers who have not yet moved to DB2 9. Is it a good idea? As always, the answer is that "It depends", and each customer must weigh the advantages and disadvantages of migrating directly to DB2 10 versus stopping (however briefly) at DB2 9. This presentation will explain the mechanics of skip migration, discuss the benefits and the risks, and give you some ideas and tools to make the best business decision for your environment.
